The béésist'ogi is typically made from jet or obsidian material. The color black is one of four sacred colors in Diné (Navajo) philosophy and represents several complex facets of Diné teachings related to resiliency, hope, protection, and longevity.
Diné people are taught to always carry an arrowhead because it offers protection not only from negative energy, but also reminds the carrier to stay alert and focused. Otherwise you will inherit or invite undesirable traits or consequences. The arrowhead assists in maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
We are also taught that our words are our arrows, and our aim must always be for the truth.
Putting the béésist'ogi on my card means I want to gift you with a small symbol of meaningful protection, with knowledge and power to foresee and ward off harmful events or circumstances.
